The history of the house
In the heart of Normandy, “castle Debleds”, then “castle Brüder” is a big traditional house of style Mansard. Built in the middle of the XIXè century by Pierre Debleds. The house shelters the happiness of families which take advantage of his pleasant setting, its garden and its fruit trees in the 30s. During the second war, the house is requisitioned and occupied by German.
In 1944, the British soldiers transformed the house into infirmary (Main Dressing Station) at the liberation of Ranville, just after the grip of the bascule bridge of Bénouville in the morning of June 6th. A model of the house at that time is prominently in the Museum Memorial Pégasus.
After the war, the house is a private residence until 1964, when it is bequeathed to the association “Les Papillons Blancs” which welcomes children.
After its last owners, Réjane and Raoul who gave life at this house, by realizing numerous works.
We really liked this attractive house which inhales the happiness. We baptized her: “La Maison de Séraphin” Seraphin’s house.
We shall tell you … Why Seraphin!
We live here all year long.
